Job Summary
The Enterprise and Logistics Engineering unit is currently seeking a Marketing and Social Media Student Assistant to join their team of professionals. The Marketing and Social Media Student Assistant will assist the Program Coordinator with marketing, website maintenance, and unit communications. The unit is looking for an organized and independent motivated student who possesses graphic design knowledge, editing skills, and a willingness to learn new skills related to marketing and communications.
Duties include:
- Assists in developing and implementing specific marketing and promotional programs, which will advance the unit’s mission and goals
- Assists in creating media posts, images, and content for social media and unit website
- Assists in the creation and implementation of social media/marketing calendars relevant to the graduate programs, student engagement activities, and unit and college events
- Assists with the unit's website maintenance
- Increase student and community awareness of the unit by proposing marketing ideas and campaigns
- Measures success of social media posts by providing data and analytics
- Assists with unit events and programming under the College
- Assist in the design of PowerPoint presentations
- General administrative assistance
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Desired Qualifications
- Requires completion of FIU Service Excellence training within the first 30 days
- Experience with website maintenance and social media platforms
- Graphic Design experience with Canva, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the team
- Demonstrates professional communication and demeanor when working with team members, students, and FIU leadership
- Comfortable working in a shared space environment
- Be flexible and willing to take on other tasks
Who May Apply
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule
Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of department.
