Job Description

Workster is partnering with a leading international organisation to find a talented Accountant for their growing operations in Sofia. Key Responsibilities – Accountant Role in Sofia

  • Prepare, review, and process invoices, payments, and expense records in line with company policies
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and ensure all financial data is up to date
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Collaborate with international teams to support consolidated reporting and group accounting
  • Ensure compliance with Bulgarian statutory requirements and internal controls
  • Support the preparation of VAT, tax, and statutory filings
  • Contribute to internal and external audit processes as required

Essential Skills and Qualifications for Accounting Professionals

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance – ideally with a background in an international environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Bulgarian is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel); experience with accounting software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a plus
  • Well-organised and able to prioritise deadlines
  • Committed to accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality
