General Description of Position
Workforce Solutions is continuously seeking qualified part-time instructors. Under the general direction and supervision of the Senior Director, Workplace Development, the adjunct instructors will teach non-credit courses in the areas of Health Care, Trades & Industrial Technology, Computers & Technology, Leadership and Professional Development, and Business Development.
Applications will be considered for additional review based on factors, including but not limited to community/business demand, relevance to Workforce Solutions objectives, existing courses, and the course’s potential for cost recovery. Application and class proposals do not guarantee acceptance. This is a part-time temporary position and is part of a pooled adjunct faculty posting for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Essential Functions
Provide Instruction in Assigned Subject Areas
- Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each assigned course.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom, online, hybrid, or lab setting that are appropriate to individual student needs and may include, but are not limited to, lectures, small groups, demonstrations, and computer-assisted instruction.
Provide For Student Evaluation and Record-keeping
- Maintain accurate student records on attendance, achievement, and progress.
- Assist in gathering pre & post-test information when required for a course.

Marginal Functions
- May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required.
- Perform other College functions and duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to write a class description including benefits and ROI (return on investment), develop a course outline, and identify student outcomes and the overarching purpose of the course.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone.
- Ability to use basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary.
- The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Teaching experience with a passion and expertise for the instructional topic.
