Department Information

 

Optimizing our enrollment mix is crucial to the long-term viability of Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis. There are several factors that influence a student's college choice, persistence, graduation, and success. The Division of Enrollment Management is comprised of over 100 full-time staff in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar, Office for Veterans and Military personnel, P12, as well as other areas supporting student enrollment. The Division also oversees and provides insight for its enrollment operations for the Fort Wayne and Columbus campuses.

Job Summary

 

The Admission Credentials Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing recruitment and enrollment strategies at IU Indianapolis while supporting the needs of students entering the university through the admission enrollment process. This role will carry responsibility and administrative duties related to the initial assessment and review of applications for admission into Indiana University Indianapolis and its academic schools along the maintenance of academic records. This role will also play a key role in data integrity through quality control audit reports.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Reviews prospective student application materials using established admissions criteria; evaluates academic history, prior institutions attended, and eligibility for degree completion and scholarship consideration.
  • Accurately enters, reviews, and maintains student data within institutional databases; utilizes route sheets, audit reports, and enrollment management systems to support admissions and student record processes.
  • Completes route sheets with an overview of candidate's background; checks student's eligibility for degree; profiles institutions candidate has attended.
  • Calculates grade point averages, determines basic scholarship eligibility, and assesses admission readiness using defined rules, policies, and formulas.
  • Applies standard problem-solving approaches to student record issues and escalates non-routine or unresolved concerns in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assists with process documentation, answers routine questions, and provides basic guidance related to admissions and student data procedures as needed.
  • Manages assigned application reviews, data processing tasks, and documentation activities to meet enrollment management timelines under supervisory direction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of Enrollment Management goals.

General Responsibilities

  • Assists with administrative needs related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various or multiple student services initiatives. Performs duties such as attending a front desk, answering phones and email, and delivering messages and mail.
  • Serves as a liaison to campus partners for cross-departmental student services initiatives, providing information, securing space reservations, scheduling planning meetings, and providing necessary documentation.
  • Provides assistance to student participants, stakeholders, faculty, and/or staff; acts as a resource by analyzing information, providing documentation, and preparing reports. Accurately maintains student records and databases.
  • Provides directions, support, and information to student organization representatives and other visitors to the department.
  • Assists with daily scheduling, training, and gathering of student feedback. May prepare and disseminate handouts, presentations, or other materials.
  • Assists with ordering or creation of promotional materials for student organizations or departmental needs.
  • Takes on tasks of increasing complexity, such as performing benchmarking research of student services initiatives at other higher education institutions or designing routine surveys to gauge student satisfaction and program effectiveness.
  • May provide guidance to other Student Services Coordinators.

Qualifications

 

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education. 

 

EDUCATION 

Required 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE 

Required 

  • 4 years of an in office environment, higher education, or a related field.

Preferred 

  • 1 year in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business or related field.
  • Experience working in higher education, enrollment management, admissions, or student success analytics.
  • Experience working with complex data and/or records services in a team environment.
  • Experience working independently while collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional partners.

Working Conditions / Demands

 

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location

 

This is a fully remote position. However, this is subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.  

Advertised Salary

 

$43,000.00 - 45,000.00 annually
