Standard Job Description

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Staff for Lockheed Martin’s Radio Frequency (RF) Product Center Advanced Programs Development team in Orlando, FL. Our team drives rapid‑development, high‑visibility programs that transition cutting‑edge RF concepts from design through to production readiness.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer Staff, you will ensure that new RF designs are producible (Design‑for‑Manufacturing/Assembly) and cost‑effective (Design‑to‑Cost) for full‑rate production. You will serve as the primary manufacturing‑engineering liaison for Design Engineering, Integration & Test, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning & Control, Contracts, Master Planning, and Program Management, providing feedback that balances performance, affordability, and manufacturability.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Evaluating concepts, evolving designs, and trade‑studies to certify producibility and cost‑targets.
  • Developing and updating Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) for early‑stage assemblies.
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing plans, make‑or‑buy analyses, and associated documentation.
  • Building low‑rate development assemblies in the shop, troubleshooting hardware or tooling issues, and coordinating test activities.
  • Presenting technical and manufacturing briefings at design and manufacturing review boards.
  • Traveling to supplier sites and other Lockheed Martin facilities to support testing, tooling, and production challenges.
  • Acting as the bridge between Advanced Manufacturing & Technology and design engineers, delivering manufacturing feedback and questioning cost‑driving requirements when technical justification is lacking.
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships across multiple disciplines and geographic locations to ensure seamless program execution.

Why Join Us
Lockheed Martin offers the chance to work on fast‑paced, mission‑critical RF programs that shape the future of defense technology. You’ll collaborate with world‑class engineers, gain exposure to advanced manufacturing methods, and influence designs that move from prototype to high‑volume production. If you thrive in a collaborative, technically challenging environment and want to make a tangible impact on aerospace and defense capabilities, we encourage you to apply.
