Job Description and Duties

Are you passionate about democracy and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard? The Secretary of State’s office is seeking a qualified applicant to serve as a permanent, full-time Analyst II in the Elections Division. The Analyst II, Voting Accessibility Coordinator will have the opportunity to serve as the coordinator of programs to promote and advance voting accessibility across the state.

Under the direction of a Supervisor I, the Analyst II will serve as the Elections Division liaison to the Secretary of State’s Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC), the Native American Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (NAVAAC), county elections official on accessibility issues. The analyst coordinates committee meetings on behalf of the Elections Division and provides information to voters and elections officials regarding all aspects of programs for voters with disabilities and Native American voting accessibility. This position is responsible for reviewing and updating various program reports, surveys, checklists, guidelines, and will strategize on how to address issues relating these programs.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent follow-through on tasks, assignments, and large projects with high visibility.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and recommend an effective course of action, perform completed staff work, and establish priorities for the completion in accordance with sound time-management methodology.
• Effective verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills in working with the public and in a team environment.

Working Conditions

This position provides a telework opportunity based upon the agency’s telework policy and business needs, typically after completing two (2) weeks of on-site training. Occasional driving may be required during work hours, for work purposes. Please note that this position may require overtime.
