AWS Data Engineer – Qlik Sense: Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer with advanced Qlik Sense expertise to help develop and manage scalable, cloud-based data solutions tailored to diverse business needs. This role demands a high degree of technical proficiency, collaborative skills, and a keen ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and manage robust data platforms using AWS services such as S3, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda, Glue, EventBridge, Redshift, DataZone, and CloudTrail.
- Design and optimize ETL pipelines for seamless data ingestion, transformation, and loading using AWS tools.
- Develop sophisticated dashboards in Qlik Sense (Cloud or Enterprise), leveraging advanced data modeling, set analysis, variable management, and performance tuning.
- Utilize strong SQL abilities for querying, transforming, and optimizing large, complex datasets.
- Apply Python programming to automate workflows, process data, and integrate data solutions efficiently.
- Oversee structured and semi-structured data warehousing, modeling, and management at scale.
- Implement and manage data governance, access control, and security using AWS Lake Formation, with a solid understanding of data lake architectures.
- Build and orchestrate serverless workflows with AWS Step Functions and develop event-driven solutions with Lambda and EventBridge.
- Use Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools for automation, version control, and deployment of data solutions.
- Perform data analytics and reporting, extracting meaningful business insights to support key objectives and KPIs.
- Engage and collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in AWS Data Services (S3, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda, Glue, EventBridge, Redshift, DataZone, CloudTrail)
- High proficiency with Qlik Sense dashboard development, including advanced modeling and optimization
- Strong SQL and Python programming
- Experience with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and data modeling
- Familiarity with AWS Step Functions, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD tools
- Ability to extract and communicate actionable insights from data
Desirable Skills:
- Redshift optimization techniques
- Exposure to event-driven architectures (EventBridge)
- Knowledge of enterprise-level data governance, compliance, and auditing frameworks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Qlik Sense, or data engineering are a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
