What you will be doing in the role of Application Engineering, Intermediate:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Working with customers to understand their needs in specific applications, including making recommendations as to which products to use
- Providing written quotations and proposals to customers based on equipment or services selected
- Performing necessary performance calculations and analysis, troubleshooting processes or product-related issues
- Ensuring proper execution of an order from quotation to final shipment
- Regular follow-up with customers to maximize conversion rate
- Regular use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales activities
- Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities during technical discussions.
- Act as a technical liaison to customers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email correspondence.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies that drive bookings growth.
Other Duties
- Promoting specific product lines
- Gathering and maintaining competitive intelligence in specific markets
- Product training in specific types
- Providing customer education (schools and seminars)
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- University Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum 4+ years experience in an Application Engineering/Inside Sales or similar role
