Responsibilities
Department Overview
The Enterprise Data & Technology (EDT) team supports a wide variety of data assets and technologies in support of StoneX business initiatives for institutional and retail customers, while providing data services to almost all areas of the organization. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the EDT organization serves multiple internal stakeholders.
Position Purpose:
The Data Engineer role is designed to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and platforms that power analytics and business intelligence. This role offers a strong foundation in modern data engineering practices and provides opportunities to develop technical skills while contributing to meaningful data projects across the organization.
Technology Ecosystem:
- Front-End: Power BI, React.js
- Back End: Python, PySpark, SQL, Databricks, SQL Server, Profisee, RedPanda (Kafka), OpenAPI, Airflow, Dynamics
- Architecture: Data Warehousing, Microservices, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/Github, Docker, Kubernetes
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure
Primary duties will include:
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines for batch and streaming data.
- Write and test code for data ingestion, transformation, and integration.
- Work closely with senior engineers and analysts to understand data requirements.
- Participate in data quality checks and documentation efforts.
- Learn and apply best practices in cloud-based data engineering and DevOps.
- Support integration of MDM and CRM systems under guidance.
Qualifications
Desired technical skills
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks like PySpark.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and tools like Databricks.
- Understanding of basic data modeling and warehousing concepts.
- Willingness to learn CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration tools.
- Academic or project experience with Power BI, React.js, or .NET.
- Exposure to data warehousing, MDM or CRM systems
- Awareness of agile development and data governance principles, Azure Fundamentals
- Interest in financial data, trading systems, or capital markets.
- Curiosity and aptitude to learn and work with AI technologies, including building and using AI tools
- Additional coursework or certifications in data warehousing or cloud technologies are beneficial.

Desired Qualifications
- Completing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field by July/August'27.
- Must be available for a full-time 6 month apprenticeship staring Jan'27 - 31st July-27
Working environment:
- Hybrid (as per RTO policy) - Minimum 4 days in a week in office
- Globally distributed team across US, India and Poland
- Open to work in shifts ( as needed)
