Job Summary:
The Assembler is responsible for assembling crane components to support production schedules.
Job Duties:
- Assembles sub-assemblies and/or finished products in accordance with written and verbal instructions. (Industrial Cranes and Crane sub-assemblies)
- Performs all aspects of assembly work.
- In accordance with company procedures, cleans and prepares units for next operation.
- Safely operates heavy equipment as directed.
- Performs inspection activities.
- Maintains accurate records.
- May be required to operate forklifts.
- Complies with all requirements of Quality Control.
- Ensures compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years relevant work experience
- Requires knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing
- Able to read prints and shop manuals
- Must be able to read a tape, scale and micrometer
- Must be able to perform simple computer entry for time keeping purposes
- Prior experience with hand and air tools
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk 95% of the work day
- Lift up to 50 pounds with the assistance of overhead crane and/or co-workers
- Twist, reach and bend frequently
- Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine)
- Possess depth perception and peripheral vision
- Possess the ability to hear
- Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder
Working Conditions:
- Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, and heavy equipment
