About this role

Design, documentation, and/or programming of building automation systems (BASs) in compliance with project plans and specifications. Proactive communication with project team both internal and external including requests for information (RFIs) and technical risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of complete building automation systems including the specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.
  • Site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system (using SiteBuilder).
  • Development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems (using Eikon and ViewBuilder).
  • Support of functional testing (commissioning) for building systems.
  • Adherence to project requirements and company and customer standards in all aspects of design, programming, and implementation.
  • Technical support during the selling process to ensure that sales representatives accurately address customer requirements and propose the best possible solutions.
  • Clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and project teams both internal and external.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with HVAC controls.
  • HS Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • AA/AS Engineering degree with 5–10+ years relevant experience
  • BA/BS Engineering degree with 2–5+ years relevant experience
  • MA/MS Engineering degree with 0–2+ years relevant experience
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% of average workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel when required.
  • Possess and maintain valid and current form of government issued identification. 
  • Understanding of IP networks
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio (other CAD software acceptable)
  • Competency with Microsoft software including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Time management skills including the ability to accurately estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline.
