We develop own tools and services to enable application developers and platform contributors to ensure high performance of their contributions.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a developer and performance engineer in the SAP HANA Cloud Platform Performance Team you will support platform development teams to deliver on performance and scalability expectations. You will:
- Define, identify and provide integration scenarios for performance and scalability testing
- Automate performance regression testing scenarios
- Conduct end-to-end analysis of platform and cloud services
- Design, develop and operate thoroughly crafted, well-tested performance testing services
- Be a strong, committed, reliable team player with a strong service ethic; as well as being a proactive networker, a self-starter and self-motivated
WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduates Welcome! Up to 4 years working experience in respective productive software development and delivery valued
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required Skills
- A good master degree in computer science, natural science or a related technical discipline
- Interest and understanding of cloud performance challenges across hardware, virtualization and software layers
- Proficiency in Linux and fluency in Java and/or JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Go, Scala
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English Preferred Skills
- Knowledge in OpenStack and/or Cloud Foundry with hands-on experience
- Experience in cloud platforms from major cloud platform providers
- Experience in developing cloud scale performance test suites for benchmarking and analyzing cloud applications and services and identify end-to-end performance issues
- Experience in state of the art development tools (Git, GitHub, Gerrit) and performance measurement, monitoring and profiling tools
- Knowledge of OpenSource products and will to adopt and use them, own contributions are a big plus
- Experience in agile software engineering and continuous delivery models
