Analog Devices in Limerick has two technically advanced segregated 200mm cleanroom areas, a mixed signal fabrication area and an area for processing of novel materials. Analog Devices Intl.  are looking to recruit a WAT Engineer within the Integration group. This person will primarily be responsible for Wafer Acceptance Testing and will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing processes by driving process controls, continuous improvements, test time reduction at WAT, device yield debug & root cause and working on the development of new test methodologies for our development technology roadmap.  In additional there will be a Device Engineering element to the role, where the applicant will take on responsibility for the performance of a key Fab Process.

Key Responsibilities of a WAT Engineer will include but not limited to:

  • Develop WAT capability to support new & existing FAB process developments.
  • Root Cause and resolve non-genuine yield loss at WAT.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities such as software enhancements, cycle time Improvements and test time reduction at WAT.
  • Manage WAT capacity & capability to meet FAB out targets
  • Manage test structure Libraries for each process and design & layout new test structures for new technologies as required.
  • Unit Device, and process expert who has ownership for the performance of a key Fab Process, and responsibility for addressing any process & yield issues affecting the metrics of that process.
  • Develop a coherent view of our manufacturing processes from start to finish, be aware of critical nodes and ensure sufficient controls
  • Liaising with key groups/disciplines in determining root cause analysis of yield issues, excursions, and implementing corrective actions & robust solutions to improve our processes
  • Driving continuous improvement for existing volume manufacturing processes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering / Physics /Mathematics or relevant discipline
  • Excellent technical problem solving & multi-tasking skills
  • Be a highly motivated individual with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Data driven and ability to apply science theory and engineering concepts
  • Self-directing, excellent teamwork and ability to work in a dynamic environment 
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing preferred but not essential
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of C / Java programming languages is preferred but not essential.
