Job Description
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences (CPG), Department of Petroleum Engineering invites applications for a faculty position (Associate or Full Professor rank) in the area of Computational Modeling and Simulation to begin as early as January 2026. We seek an outstanding individual who will teach and conduct cutting-edge research to develop, advance, and apply innovative and computational approaches in Reservoir Engineering. We are interested in domains such as - but not limited to – fluid flow and contaminant transport in porous media, reservoir simulation and history matching, field development optimization, geostatistical reservoir characterization, and welltest analysis.
 
The Department has a strong tradition and international reputation in undergraduate and graduate education and offers accredited B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Engineering. KFUPM ranks 5th globally in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by subject category of Petroleum Engineering. The Department has 25 full-time faculty members, 2 lecturers, 15 post-docs, 7 supporting staff, and approximately 385 undergraduate majors and 94 graduate students. CPG has High-performance computing facilities and software for use in this area. Programs are enhanced through close collaboration with the Department of Geosciences within the College and with other departments on campus.
