Description

Title: Associate Full Stack Engineer

Location: Remote

Terms: Full-time

Salary Range: $75K-100k DOE

Clearance: Qualified candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain a minimum of a Public Trust clearance

Travel: 0-20%

Project Description

This position supports Revolutional’s customer, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where critical mission systems are undergoing modernization.  The current environment consists of large, complex legacy systems that manage operational workflows (e.g., processing, tracking, and managing encounters). These systems have evolved over time and often include layers of business rules, manual processes, and tightly coupled functionality.

The core challenge is not simply rebuilding these systems; it is:

  • Understanding how they actually work in practice
  • Identifying which functionality is mission-critical
  • Eliminating unnecessary complexity
  • Translating that functionality into a modern platform-based architecture

Position Description

Revolutional is seeking a skilled Associate Full Stack Engineer to support a federal government client in a dynamic, agile development environment. This role is responsible for participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications.

The Full Stack Engineer will develop, test, and maintain applications using Java and modern web technologies while working in a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment. The role includes conducting software analysis, programming, debugging, implementing unit tests, remediating SonarQube findings, and developing technical documentation. The selected candidate will also periodically assist with Help Desk troubleshooting and resolution of end-user issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in agile methodologies and contribute within a continuous integration environment.
  • Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging activities.
  • Analyze user requirements to define business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
  • Implement and remediate SonarQube findings and develop unit tests to ensure code quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user support materials.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues across application environments.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes using tools such as Jenkins/CloudBees and Git.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
  • Support cloud-based deployments and infrastructure using AWS services (EC2, CloudWatch, Load Balancers, Lambda).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security and performance best practices.
  • Periodically assist with Help Desk support to troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in application development and/or Java development.
  • Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+), Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
  • Built and enhanced Java/Spring Boot applications integrated with Palantir Foundry, leveraging REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native technologies to support enterprise data management and operational workflows.
  • Experience with MVC architecture and JDBC.
  • Proficiency with front-end technologies including React (18+), Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON.
  • Experience with Node.js (22+), Struts 2, Maven, and JQuery.
  • Familiarity with messaging and streaming technologies such as MQ or Kafka.
  • Experience with Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and SQL optimization.
  • Experience working in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, CloudWatch, load balancers, and serverless architectures.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and RedHat Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/CloudBees and version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and DataDog.
  • Knowledge of application frameworks, microservices architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cross-platform interoperability.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

 Desired

  • Current DHS Public Trust Suitability.
  • Certified Palantir Foundry Application Developer
