Role Description
SERVICENOW ITAM-HAM/SAM Lead
Position Overview
The ServiceNow ITAM Subject Matter Expert SME leads the design implementation and optimization of Hardware Asset Management HAM and Software Asset Management SAM modules and Software VettingGovernance framework This role ensures the alignment of asset lifecycles drives software license compliance and integrates critical asset data with the Configuration Management Database CMDB across the ServiceNow platform
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy Design enterprisegrade HAM and SAM Pro architectures aligning implementation directly with CSDM Common Service Data Model frameworks Establish and govern the Software Vetting lifecycle reviewing new software requests against security compliance and architectural standards before approval Collaborate with Information Security Legal and Procurement teams to build and automate vetting workflows Request Assess Approve and Provision
Lifecycle Management Oversee complete IT asset lifecycles from initial procurement and provisioning through tracking maintenance retirement and disposal
Compliance Auditing Manage software entitlements models and contracts to mitigate vendor audit risks and optimize the organizations Effective License Position ELP
Integrations Direct and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and thirdparty discovery tools eg SCCM JAMF cloud infrastructure providers as well as enterprise procurementERP systems
Governance Workspaces Standardize data normalization rules automated reconciliation processes and asset reclamation workflows within the Software Asset Workspace
Core Requirements
Professional Experience 12 -16years of total ServiceNow experience with 5 years of dedicated handson ownership of ServiceNow Asset management module
ServiceNow implementation experience in ITSM modules Incident Problem Change CMDB and Asset
SAMPro Implementation experience
Exposure to licensing publisher packs
Detailed understanding and oversight of data sources for inventory usage contract entitlement and data maintenance user management and enablement data integrity compliance analysis renewal milestone calendaring and innovative reporting solutions
Certifications Certified System Administrator CSA required Certified Implementation Specialist CIS in Software Asset Management or Hardware Asset Management strongly preferred
Technical Skills Strong proficiency with JavaScript RESTSOAP APIs Integration Hub Flow Designer and standard CMDB architecture
