Job Purpose
We are seeking a motivated Software Developer (Level 1) to join our development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of enterprise applications while continuing to build your technical expertise. You will work with modern technologies including C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, React, SQL, and cloud-based solutions, collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality software.
As part of our AI-forward engineering culture, you will leverage tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, enhance productivity, and strengthen your problem-solving capabilities. This role is ideal for developers with 1-3 years of experience who are eager to grow their careers while working on impactful business solutions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support applications using C#/.NET and Java/Spring Boot
- Assist in designing and implementing new features and enhancements with guidance from senior team members
- Develop user interfaces using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following team standards and best practices
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend applications
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across backend, frontend, and database components
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and technical skills
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability
- Contribute to database development and maintenance using SQL
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and fellow developers to deliver business solutions
- Learn and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices
- Support application deployments, monitoring, and maintenance activities as needed
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Early career role with mentorship and growth opportunities toward Software Developer (Level 2) responsibilities.
- 1+ years of software development experience
- Working knowledge of C#/.NET and/or Java/Spring Boot
- Experience with web development technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration
- Experience using Git or other version control systems
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to improve productivity and code quality
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with ASP.NET Core and/or Spring Boot
- Experience building and maintaining React applications
- Knowledge of TypeScript and modern frontend development practices
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Understanding of containerization concepts and tools such as Docker
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and testing best practices
- Understanding of web application security principles
- Knowledge of performance optimization and application monitoring techniques
- Experience effectively leveraging AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting
- Ability to write effective prompts and understand the strengths and limitations of AI-assisted development tools
