The Supervisor is responsible for the successful training & operation of the housekeeping house staff group. The supervisor will work side by side with the manager and inspectors to assure proper training and supervision of the housekeeping staff.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for detailed cleanliness of all housekeeping assigned areas throughout the entire property.
- High dusting and upper ceiling area cleaning, detailed mopping, detailed sweeping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, stripping, refinishing floors, operate floor scrubber, buffer, window washing, waste receptacle washing, carpet shampooing, cleaning, moving, of furniture and operation of all mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees
- Work area to include restrooms, hotel connector, gaming area, race book, track side (during season) storage areas, meeting rooms, stairwells, public & back of the house areas.
- Exposed to all temperatures, some excessive noise, dust, fumes, and smoke and cleaning chemicals.
- Maintenance and upkeep of equipment
- Training of deep cleaning and general cleaning team members
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions. Good oral communications skills.
- Ability to work well with other people in a timely manner, according to standards.
- Knowledge of Innkeepers laws and OSHA regulations and local Health Department standards.
- Ability to perform assigned job duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
- Knowledge in the safe use of cleaning products.
- Ability to use house cleaning equipment. Experience in janitorial service or high volume hotel / casino gaming housekeeping department helpful.
- Always maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude at all times.
- Have complete knowledge of all special events and promotional activities.
- Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment.
- Must be at least 21.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. College preferred.

- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
- Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
- Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
- Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
- Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment
