Position Description:
CGI is seeking a Senior Java AWS Technical Lead to lead complex application development and modernization efforts within a large scale Financial Services environment.
This role will provide hands on technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, working closely with business partners, developers, and enterprise technology teams to understand current state applications and processes, identify technical needs, and deliver scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.
We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in either Knoxville, TN, Columbia SC or Lafayette, LA or Birmingham, AL. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is seeking a Senior Java AWS Technical Lead to lead complex application development and modernization efforts within a large scale Financial Services environment.
This role will provide hands on technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, working closely with business partners, developers, and enterprise technology teams to understand current state applications and processes, identify technical needs, and deliver scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate brings deep Java development experience, strong knowledge of AWS cloud environments, and a proven track record leading development teams on large, complex initiatives. This individual will help guide technical implementation, improve end to end development processes, promote reuse of existing technology assets, and ensure solutions follow enterprise standards and engineering best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 8+ years of software/application development experience, including experience serving as a lead developer or technical lead on large, complex projects.
. Strong hands on Java/J2EE development experience and solid knowledge of enterprise application development.
. Experience developing, modernizing, or supporting applications in AWS cloud environments.
. Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern software engineering practices.
. Experience with SQL and relational databases, including Oracle or comparable enterprise database platforms.
. Knowledge of enterprise application integration and messaging technologies such as MQ or similar solutions.
. Experience assessing existing applications, processes, and technical requirements and translating them into practical implementation plans.
. Ability to lead technical teams, provide development guidance, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive work through delivery.
. Experience working with business, application development, infrastructure, and other enterprise technology teams.
. Strong understanding of application servers, databases, APIs, integration patterns, and distributed application environments.
. Experience with application modernization and migration initiatives is strongly preferred.
. Financial Services or other highly regulated industry experience is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $97,300.00 $156,700.00.
