About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Full Stack Software Developers to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12‑month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Krakow.
Our client is seeking an experienced engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, API development, microservices, databases, CI/CD and cloud-ready architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable, secure and reliable applications, while contributing to architecture design, API governance, production support and engineering best practice.
The role requires a hands-on engineer who can work closely with cross-functional teams, understand business and non-functional requirements, support resilient solution design, and help deliver robust technology solutions in an Agile delivery environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable, secure applications, APIs and microservices using Java/Spring Boot.
- Support architecture design, including data modelling, integration patterns, security and non-functional requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Estimate engineering effort, support delivery planning and contribute to Agile/Scrum/Kanban ceremonies.
- Identify and resolve production issues, bugs and performance concerns in a timely manner.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews and unit testing to ensure reliability, usability and quality.
- Use source control, CI/CD pipelines and bug tracking tools in line with engineering best practice.
About You
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing APIs and microservices using Core Java and/or Spring Boot.
- Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate JPA, REST services, XML and JSON.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, ReactJS, Node.js, Angular and jQuery.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and container environments such as GCP, GKE or AWS.
- Experience or knowledge of system architecture and solution design.
- Knowledge or hands-on experience with Python, Machine Learning or Data Science.
- Strong database experience, ideally across Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
- Good understanding of secure coding, API governance, data modelling and architecture concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and engineering practices, including Jenkins, Docker, Git, Unix and shell scripting.
- Strong Agile/Scrum/Kanban delivery experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
- Experience working within financial services, banking, operations or frontline business environments.
