As a Senior Backend Engineer with a focus on Node.js, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend services that drive our cutting-edge applications. You will work in a collaborative environment to build efficient and reliable systems that adapt to the evolving needs of our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Node.js-based backend services and APIs
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other teams to implement and enhance new features
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
- Implement and manage database solutions, including both SQL and NoSQL
- Ensure high availability and reliability of our services
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the team's technical growth
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in Node.js and backend development
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Node.js
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js
- Proficiency with Node.js frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Nest.js, Koa)
- Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS or GCP)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of serverless architectures and FaaS (Function as a Service)
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience with TypeScript
- Knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Server
- Familiarity with message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka)
- Experience with real-time communication protocols (e.g., WebSockets, Socket.io)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools for Node.js applications
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Knowledge of frontend JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
