Job Description

Help Build Exceptional Before & After School Programs for Local Youth

At the Whatcom Family YMCA, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive place to learn, grow, and thrive. We're looking for a highly organized, solutions-oriented BASE Program Implementation Specialist to help power our Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) programs across multiple locations throughout our community.

If you're passionate about youth development, enjoy coordinating operations behind the scenes, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day makes a difference, we'd love to meet you.

Why You'll Love This Role

As the BASE Program Implementation Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our school-age programs run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You'll coordinate logistics, manage resources, support staff, analyze program data, and help create the operational foundation that allows children and families to have outstanding YMCA experiences.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing administration, problem-solving, and relationship-building while making a meaningful impact in the community.

What You'll Do

Program Operations & Logistics

  • Coordinate daily operational systems supporting multiple BASE program sites

  • Manage program materials, equipment, and supplies across locations

  • Monitor inventory and oversee purchasing, distribution, maintenance, and replacement of resources

  • Maintain organized, safe, and welcoming program environments

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Track attendance, absences, and program records

  • Support budgeting processes, purchasing, invoicing, and expense tracking

  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting systems

  • Identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements

Technology & Data Management

  • Support staff with devices, software platforms, and communication tools

  • Collect and analyze operational data to support decision-making and continuous improvement

  • Identify challenges and provide actionable recommendations to leadership

Program Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with YMCA standards and state licensing requirements

  • Support staffing needs as necessary to maintain safety and licensing ratios

  • Promote safe, inclusive, and high-quality youth experiences

  • Follow all youth protection policies, mandated reporting requirements, and abuse prevention practices

Our Commitment to Equity & Inclusion

The YMCA is committed to creating an environment where everyone belongs. We believe all people should have the opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, ability, socioeconomic status, or background.

We actively work to remove barriers, strengthen families, support youth success, improve community health, and create opportunities for all.
