Job Description

Scope

The Business Development Manager - Mining & Industrial is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic customer engagement, solution development, and opportunity generation. This role is commercially focused, identifying high-value customers and opportunities, aligning internal and external stakeholders, and enabling sales teams to win complex business.

The position emphasizes early-stage opportunity discovery, developing a detailed strategic plan, consultative solution positioning, scalable growth strategies, and margin-focused execution to support sustainable business expansion.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop high-value business opportunities aligned with the Company’s growth objectives.
  • Build and position Braemac as a preferred partner with customers, suppliers, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Sales team to support strategic account development and complex deal execution.
  • Engage early with customer decision-makers and influencers to understand needs and shape tailored solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical, product, marketing, and operations teams to develop compelling proposals and value propositions.
  • Build and manage a robust opportunity pipeline, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and forecasts.
  • Act as a commercial liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment throughout the sales cycle.
  • Support Sales enablement by identifying value-add opportunities and contributing to training initiatives.
  • Manage strategic partner and supplier relationships to drive mutual growth and competitive advantage.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and strategic customer meetings.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and CRM data tied to measurable milestones and revenue targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and evolving customer needs to inform business strategy.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience 

  • 5+ years experience working within sales and supply to the mining and industrial sectors within Western Australia, with a proven track record of sales success, account planning and developing detailed strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the Pilbara and Kalgoorlie regions, with existing strong relationships and ideally knowledge of the major companies and sites in these regions.

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, operations, systems, vendors, product and branch operations.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
  • Present complex topics effectively to branch sales and senior management.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record.
