Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer/Reporting Developer based in the United States.

This is an opportunity to build and enhance business intelligence solutions supporting mission-critical operations within a federal environment.
You will develop dashboards, reporting products, semantic models, and analytical capabilities that turn complex data into actionable insights.
The role combines hands-on BI development with business analysis, data modeling, visualization, and reporting automation.
You’ll collaborate with business users, data engineers, and data scientists to translate operational needs into reliable analytical solutions.
Your work will support data-driven decision-making while maintaining strong standards for data quality, governance, privacy, and security.
This is a fully remote role supporting Eastern Time hours, with exposure to modern BI and cloud analytics technologies.
The position is particularly suited to an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering measurable value through data.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize business intelligence products, including dashboards, reports, KPIs, reporting layers, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, Qlik, or similar platforms.
  • Translate business questions and stakeholder requirements into functional BI solutions, analytical workflows, reporting specifications, and actionable insights.
  • Design and implement data models, including relational and dimensional models such as star and snowflake schemas, while applying sound data warehousing and reporting practices.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support reporting, data extraction, analysis, and business intelligence applications.
  • Explore and analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, performance opportunities, and insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain automated reporting and self-service BI solutions, improving the efficiency, accessibility, and scalability of recurring analytics.
  • Validate the accuracy, integrity, consistency, and performance of reported data and associated BI workflows, troubleshooting and improving existing analytical assets as required.
  • Collaborate directly with users to configure, troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize dashboards, reports, and related data solutions.
  • Support data integration and ETL processes, working with cloud-based analytics environments such as AWS and Azure where appropriate.
  • Apply data governance, quality, privacy, security, and compliance principles, including relevant federal and regulated-environment standards.
  • Document BI processes, data definitions, methodologies, and reporting logic to promote transparency, consistency, and reproducibility.
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, using effective data storytelling to explain insights and recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities independently while adapting to evolving requirements, technologies, and stakeholder needs.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
    • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience developing business intelligence products in an enterprise environment, preferably in a BI Developer, Business Intelligence Analyst, Reporting Developer, or similar role.
    • Strong hands-on experience with BI and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, Qlik, Looker, or comparable technologies.
    • Advanced SQL skills, including experience with data extraction, manipulation, query optimization, views, stored procedures, and reporting datasets.
    • Solid understanding of business intelligence, data warehousing, relational and dimensional data modeling, and reporting best practices.
    • Familiarity with ETL processes, data integration techniques, cloud analytics platforms, and technologies such as AWS QuickSight/Redshift or Azure Power BI/Synapse.
    • Experience gathering business requirements and translating business needs into effective analytical and reporting solutions.
    • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to validate data quality and investigate discrepancies to ensure reliable and accurate reporting.
    • Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts and findings to non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, security, and compliance requirements, particularly within regulated or government environments.
    • Experience in aviation, government, finance, healthcare, or another regulated industry is preferred but not required.
    • U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to comply with applicable FAA system and access requirements.
    • Candidates must meet applicable identification requirements and be willing to update required identification documentation in a timely manner if necessary.
    • The role supports Eastern Time working hours and requires authorization to work in the United States.
    • Benefits:

      • Fully remote position within the United States, supporting Eastern Time hours.
      • Competitive benefits package including healthcare coverage and supplemental benefits.
      • Paid time off and other employee benefits.
      • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
      • Education and professional development reimbursement for certifications, degrees, courses, and other career-development activities, subject to applicable limits.
      • Opportunities to build expertise and leadership capabilities through continuous professional development.
      • Employee discount and rewards programs.
      • Company-supported virtual and in-person social, wellness, fitness, holiday, and community activities.
      • Opportunity to contribute to mission-focused technology supporting federal aviation operations.
      • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunity and professional growth.
