About the Department

Under close supervision, assists in the preparation of food; serves lunches and performs routine manual tasks connected therewith; and performs other related duties as required.
 

Position Duties

Prepares fruits, vegetables, and other foods for cooking; assists in the kitchen by preparing sandwiches and salads; butters bread.
 
 Set up or cleans steam table and stores food.
 
 Dishes foods onto trays or plates.
 
 Washes pots and pans; cleans and sterilizes plates and silverware; washes and sets tables.
 
 Stores unused foods.
 
 Cleans work areas and disposes of refuse.
 
 Leads student helpers.
 
 Collects money.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Equivalent to completion of the 10th grade; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
 
LICENSES AND OTHER  REQUIREMENTS:
 
Obtain food handler's certificate issued by the County Health Department.
