Job Description:DCS Asset Maintenance (DCSAM) is looking for reliable CDL Drivers to help keep Virginia roads clear and safe during winter weather. This position is on an on-call basis and will only be needed during periods of inclement winter weather.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate snowplow trucks safely and responsibly during winter storms.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety rules.
- Do pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues right away.
- Communicate with your Route Manager or Dispatch about any unsafe situations or service needs.
- Take part in required safety meetings and training sessions.
- Help other drivers or routes when needed.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must be 18 or older.
- Have a valid Class A or B CDL.
- Pass a DOT drug screen, and MVR review.
- Have a clean driving record — no serious violations or multiple accidents within the past 5 years.
- Be willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of the event (hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS).
- Prior snowplow experience is helpful but not required.
- Must attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts.
- Work is needed, depending on winter weather events determined by VDOT.
- $35/hour pay rate
