About the TeamThe Child Development Program is made up of four Child Development services/ service areas as well as Statewide service offerings. Services are delivered from eleven community-based locations, as well as the Queensland Children's Hospital.The Child Development Service teams provide a family-centred, specialist public health service for children who have complex developmental and behavioural concerns. The teams provide multidisciplinary clinical services and consultancy/advice to support a comprehensive understanding of the child's developmental profile and how this relates to their functioning and participation in everyday life. Teams use a strengths-based, partnership approach to enable families, key stakeholders and community providers to best support the child's optimal development, health and wellbeing across the life course.Teams also contribute to education and training, advocacy and development of professional competence and standards in the field of developmental paediatrics. Teams include a variety of health professionals including medical, allied health and nursing, along with administration officer personnel. Teams provide clinical services at the Queensland Children's Hospital quaternary service and community services across thirteen sites clustered in Central North and South locations.About the RoleIn this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:Apply advanced level clinical knowledge and clinical management experience to lead the ongoing development and evaluation of the governance framework for the specialist multi-disciplinary Child Development Program including the implementation and development of professional practice standards and competencies.Provide managerial leadership to support the Director – CDP in CDP program wide service evaluation, project management, system use, and accreditation standards.Apply advanced level clinical knowledge and clinical management experience to manage, lead and/ or coordinate the development of service improvement initiatives within CDP to ensure the provision of quality and evidence-based clinical services to children and families (including multidisciplinary team practice and function).Develop and review management of patient flow, informatics processes and data management systems to coordinate, audit and report clinical and management trends in a multidisciplinary environment.Prepare and disseminate high quality documentation including reports, business cases, briefs and information and procedural documents as directed.Lead the implementation of the strategic research agenda within the Child Development Program under the direction of Director – CDP.Identify and lead the integration of national and international research trends in the area of specialist child development that may be beneficially applied to allied health clinical education and training.Inclusion and diversityTo encourage inclusive practices in recruitment, we are committed to increasing our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce and building inclusive cultures that respect and promote human rights and Workforce Diversity and Inclusion.
