Job Description

Title: Child Nutrition Program Worker

 

Immediate Supervisor: School Principal

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Good General Health
  2. Demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed
  3. High School graduate
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
  5. Must participate to obtain National Restaurant Association Certification or similar state or national program 

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  1. Able to perform the tasks in the kitchen and cafeteria 
  2. Knowledge of safe, proper, and efficient use of all kitchen equipment.
  3. Assist in maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

                                                                                                                               

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner
  2. Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen, dining, service and trash/garbage collection areas
  3. Assume responsibility for seeing that during meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly
  4. Perform major cleaning of equipment and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the CNP Manager.
  5. Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
  6. Maintain such records as necessary for accountability.
  7. Maintain a proper and professional relationship with students and other employees.
  8. Be familiar with and follow Board of Education Policies.
  9. Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
  10. Be regular and punctual in attendance.
  11. Obtain National Restaurant Association Certification or similar state or national program certification
  12. Attend Child Nutrition Program workshops and other appropriate in-service meetings
  13. Maintain confidentiality of any school system related business
  14. Perform other job-related duties that may be reasonably required by the Principal or Child Nutrition Director.

 

                                                                

Physical Requirements:

  1. Able to lift 50 pounds of weight

 

Other Attributes:

  • Exhibits  personal grooming and dresses appropriately for food service work
  1. Interacts and communicates with fellow workers in the cafeteria effectively
  2. Represents the school cafeteria system, school, and all school personnel in a positive manner at all times
