VCA All About Pets Animal Hospital in Union City CA is seeking for a Part-Time (30 hours or less per week) and/or Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week)
Enjoy 3 days off with our Alternate Work Schedule (4-10 hour shifts with 3 days off)
We are a 3 DVM General Practice open 6 days a week Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM and CLOSED on Sundays and Major Holidays!
Shifts for Full-Time employees:
7:45-6:45 (Open)
8:30-7:30 (Close)
Shifts for Part-Time employees:
7:45-4:45 (Open)
10:30-7:30 (Close)
Schedules are put out a month in advance for your convenience to have a better work/life balance!

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 an hour, depending on education and experience.
*Responsibilities for a CSR:
- Checking patients in and out
- Processing payments via debit, credit, cash or telecheck
- Learning different types of prescription food and medications
- Learning medical terminology
- Going over detailed procedure/authorization forms with clients respectfully and properly
- Discussing Euthanasia Protocols/Forms with clients who are not in the right state of mind
- Answering multiple phone lines (6+ phone lines)
- Booking appointments and procedures
- Emails/Advertisement
- Filling Medications
- Calling other vet hospitals for records
- Rooming Patients
- Getting weights on patients
- Cleaning exam rooms
- Making sure patients are roomed on time for doctors
- Calling No Call No Show appointments
- Calling clients to collect missed payments
- Keeping Front Desk area organized and clean
- Scanning and Uploading Documents in a timely manner
- Learning to read medical documents and medical records
- Calling and Text messaging our clients about vaccines that are due
- and much much more
Skills and Abilities: * Must be able to multitask clients and phone calls
- Must be able to learn how to read medical records
- Must have common sense
- Knowledge of vaccines and medical terminology
- Computer Savvy
- Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to work fast paced
- Ability to take constructive criticism well
- Must possess sound decision making skills and multi task while working in an environment of stress.
Experience Preferred: * Customer Service Experience
- Veterinary Receptionist Experience is a PLUS
- Office Experience
- Computer experience
- Working in a veterinary hospital is preferred but not required
- Typing 65 WPM or more is a HUGE plus
- Bilingual preferred
- Email, Phone and Spelling etiquette is a PLUS
REQUIREMENTS: * Must be 18 years old or over
- High School Diploma
- Dependable attendance is required
- Open availability is a PLUS
- Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
- Must be able to work well under pressure
