On Time Talent Solutions is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to bridge the gap between the providers and hospital coders to clarify at-risk documentation to ensure accurate claim submission. You will be accountable for reviewing patient medical records in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting to capture an accurate representation of the severity of illness and facilitate proper coding.

Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist Responsibilities:

• New acute inpatient admissions to the facility

• Review Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC) and other publicly reported patient quality or safety metrics (i.e. AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators)

• Facilitates appropriate clinical documentation to support Hierarchical Condition Categories, ICD-10-CM specificity and medical necessity of ambulatory visits

• Identify opportunities in concurrent and retrospective inpatient clinical medical documentation to support quality and effective coding

• Conducts record reconciliation and communicates effectively with hospital coding staff to assign a appropriate working DRG

• Effectively collaborate and communicate with the hospital coding and denials teams to ensure appropriate CDI practices and accurate application of coding/documentation principals

Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist Qualifications:

• An Associate's degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master's degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN) is required

• Professional certification in Clinical Documentation (CCDS, CDEO or Professional Coding Certification (CRC, CPC, or CCS-P)

• Two years of recent inpatient nursing experience in a medical, surgical, or ICU setting, and/or recent work experience as a CDI nurse or healthcare quality professional with specific medical record review experience

• Effective verbal and written communication
