- Design, deploy, and maintain database systems within Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Research, implement, and maintain cloud automation and orchestration.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks (indexing, query tuning, partitioning, data modeling).
- Optimize database deployments for Azure storage, networking, and security configurations.
- Build and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Automate schema migrations, backups, and cluster maintenance via CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead root-cause analysis for database incidents and drive remediation.
- Evaluate and implement strategies for scalability and growth.
- Maintain backup/restore strategies across SQL Server and Cassandra.
- Patch and upgrade systems; participate in 24x7 on-call rotation when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years SQL Server and Azure SQL administration, performance tuning, and architecture
- 3–5+ years hands-on Cassandra (data modeling, cluster management, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on Azure ops: Azure SQL, VM-based SQL Server, Cassandra clusters, storage configuration, RBAC, Key Vault
- Strong scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native deployment patterns
- Experience supporting high-traffic, customer-facing SaaS applications
