Job Description

At K&L Gates, we are looking for smart, imaginative and hard-working people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and ideas to join us.  Perhaps our search for talented visionaries and your search for important and impactful work lead to the same place.

We are seeking a Cloud/DevOps (Development, Security, and Operations) Engineer to join the firm.  The Cloud/DevOps Engineer Engineer serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, security, and operational excellence of enterprise Azure platforms and CI/CD pipelines. This role drives DevSecOps strategy and standards, embeds security and compliance across the delivery lifecycle, and partners with application, infrastructure, security, and data teams to enable scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions, including AI and data workloads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for Azure DevSecOps platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and govern end-to-end CI/CD and DevSecOps pipeline architectures aligned to enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
• Embed security controls, scanning, and policy-as-code across infrastructure, application, and data delivery pipelines.
• Lead automation of Azure infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code frameworks to support enterprise-scale deployments.
• Build, design, and support containerized platforms and orchestration solutions for cloud-native and hybrid workloads.
• Design and maintain Azure environments supporting production systems, modernization initiatives, and on-premises migrations.
• Partner with application, data, and AI teams to enable secure delivery of enterprise applications, database-backed systems, and AI workloads.
• Establish and maintain shared CI/CD components, frameworks, and reusable modules to accelerate delivery consistency.
• Define and enforce DevSecOps best practices, standards, and governance models across delivery teams.
• Enable Agile delivery through DevSecOps tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
• Design Azure environments for AI workloads, including private networking and restricted egress designs.
• Mentor engineers and act as a subject-matter expert in DevSecOps, Azure architecture, and security automation.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or enterprise software delivery.
• Advanced experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines across build, test, security, and deployment stages.
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Azure services, including networking, identity, security, and platform services.
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
• Experience designing and operating container platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Deep knowledge of application and cloud security practices, including SAST, DAST, and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale application, data, and AI workloads in Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Foundry (formerly Azure AI Studio) Agent Service.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications preferred (AZ-400, AZ-500, AZ-204, AI-200, or SC-500).

Compensation Salary $111,000 - $216,000 / year

The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
