Location: Budapest, Hungary | Reports to: Head of Cloud Operations | Work Arrangement: Hybrid | Visa Requirements: Valid working visa for Hungary | Language Requirements: fluent/professional level of Hungarian 


As a Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure), you will combine hands-on expertise with coordination responsibilities - supporting daily operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and guiding colleagues to ensure reliable platform performance.
You’ll work within a collaborative Cloud Platform Operations team alongside platform engineers, security experts, and customer stakeholders, ensuring cloud environments remain secure, compliant, and aligned with business needs - primarily in Azure, with exposure to other hyperscalers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the stability, performance, and security of Azure-based cloud platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including root cause analysis and improvements
  • Support and guide team members on complex technical challenges
  • Manage infrastructure and configurations across IaaS/PaaS environments
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. security, DevOps, engineering) and external partners
  • Contribute to documentation, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives

What we need to see from you

  • Solid experience working with Microsoft Azure (core requirement)
  • Background in operations of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of networking, identity & access management, and security concepts
  • Experience troubleshooting complex cloud or infrastructure-related issues
  • Ability to guide others, share knowledge, and act as a technical reference point
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Openness for on-call rotation (planned and shared across the team)
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. telecom, finance) is beneficial, but not mandatory.
