Job description

Position Summary: The Conflicts Analyst is responsible for designing targeted searches of the conflicts database, reviewing the data to determine whether it is relevant to potential conflicts of interest, and producing reports for the Compliance Counsel that will assist them in identifying and resolving conflicts of interest.  Conflicts Analysts review new matter and conflict check requests for accuracy and completeness, and research client names and relationships in online resources.  They assist with the entry of data for related parties, particularly in large, multi-party matters and in connection with lateral hires.  They may also be asked to assist with special projects requested by the Office of General Counsel. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review intake requests to ensure accuracy and completeness regarding the information submitted.
  • Conduct research on new intake requests against the firm’s conflicts database and other resources
  • Data entry, search and analysis of conflicts data into the firm’s conflicts and new matter intake systems in accordance with firm policies and procedures
  • Conduct research via external sources to establish corporate structures and management profiles
  • Verify that all conflicts reports are complete, consistent and accurate, and adhere to established standards and procedures for all conflicts of interest searches firmwide
  • Perform data analysis and identify possible issues to the Compliance Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
  • Assist the department with other projects as assigned
  • Assist in the training and development of other Conflicts Analysts
  • Ensure the timely and efficient processing of conflict requests
  • Ensure accuracy in searching and reporting tasks
  • Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements to provide optimum customer service and efficiency
  • Coordinate with other Analysts and other conflicts team members in order to meet deadlines, time sensitive issues and other challenges

  • This position requires flexibility to work assigned staggered shifts and participation in a rotating on-call  schedule, including occasional after-hours support as needed
  • Discretion in handling confidential information
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite as well as web-based systems

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office, In-tapp Intake, WorldCheck, and Dun & Bradstreet
  • 2‐ or 4-year degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience required, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete under time constraints
  • Ability to perform effectively with moderate supervision and within established time limits and on-going deadlines
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally and provide exceptional service at all levels with a  high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to respond to requests requiring analysis and decision making for new clients/matter processing
  • Must be responsible for completing tasks and following through with the resolution of issues, including the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
