POSITION SUMMARY
The Controller leads all day-to-day accounting operations, with functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and grants administration. Responsibilities also include production of financial reports, proper maintenance of accounting records, accurate processing of financial transactions, and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. Ensures that reported results are accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), adhere to grants management standards, and result in clean audits. The Finance Manager will be supported by and act as mentor to junior finance staff.

- Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000 Annual
- Bonus: Potential 10% Based on organizational and individual performance
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,500.00

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain system of accounts; keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
- Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash flow.
- Maintain control of the following areas: general ledger, accounts payable, expense reports, and billing.
- Manage, oversee, process, and act as backup for the following transactions: accounts payable, revenue and expense, fixed assets, cash, bank reconciliations, and allocations.
- Assist in issuing timely, accurate, and complete financial statements for all levels, including Board of Directors, executive, and management.
- Assist in coordinating preparation of audited financial statements, tax returns, and financial information in the corporate annual report.
- Assist in production of cash flow reports, annual budget, and forecasts.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant findings to management.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls that are current best practices related to transaction processing.
- Perform month-end closing procedures, including overhead allocations, account reconciliations, and updating schedules.
- Financial management of governmental grant contracts (e.g., reporting/billing, performance against budget, budget revisions, maximize use of funds, and compliance).
- Other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance, accounting, audit, and analysis (including gathering, evaluating, reporting, and communicating financial information).
- Strong experience in general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, budget development and analysis, coordinating audit activities.
- Proficiency with accounting software and excellent Excel skills.
- Strategic thinker with solid business acumen.
- Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
