Job Description

Coordinator, Smart Grid

The Coordinator, Smart Grid helps thousands of customers save on their electricity bill by supporting the implementation of Elevate’s smart grid programs. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the customer support, procedures, data management, reporting, and quality assurance/quality control measures of the residential smart grid programs administered by Elevate. This role works extensively across internal departments within Elevate including Marketing, Technology and Data Services, IT, Research, and the Program Support team to deliver high-quality smart grid programs to utility customers. The Coordinator, Smart Grid will work on teams, sometimes playing a lead role and other times a support role.


The Coordinator, Smart Grid reports directly to the Senior Program Manager II, Smart Grid. This position is based in Chicago, IL and is currently remote.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from smart grid program customers.
  • Work to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues or internal processes if issues arise, including participant true-ups.
  • Use technical skills to support data-driven marketing and communication decisions by assisting with the measurement and reporting of smart grid initiatives.
  • Support key customer-focused data processes such as shadow billing and pre-populated links.
  • Develop, update, and maintain programs’ process documentation and talking points needed for the Program Support team.
  • Present and document analysis and findings in writing, and visually and orally as appropriate; contribute analysis to reports and proposals.
  • Construct weekly metrics reports based on client input and distribute to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support data quality across multiple systems for the programs.
  • Assist with marketing and communication deliverables including review of copy, develop email and mailing lists, and establish necessary data requirements for email sends.
  • Ensure that program information privacy is in line with relevant legal, customer, and Elevate requirements.
  • Assist with data documentation and system requirements where applicable.
  • Work closely with the Technology and IT teams to ensure that program needs are properly implemented.
  • Assist Smart Grid staff with technical and other support as requested to complete deliverables, improve efficiency, and inform business unit decision making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two plus years of experience in customer support or program support.
  • Three years of experience working in energy industry (utilities, utility-run programs) preferred
  • Excellent documentation skills (requirement definitions, use cases, process flows, data models)
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple assignments and work with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership and exceptional organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to expand job responsibilities, suggest improvements, and collaborate with others to generate ideas for improved processes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and consultative skills
  • Inquisitive and positive mindset in approaching complex problems
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and reporting
  • Skilled with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of data security, data privacy, and applicable laws

Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $55,000 - $65,000, based on experience.
