Job description

Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • You will operate various hydraulic boom cranes to load, unload, move, and position heavy materials and equipment.
  • You will make critical decisions regarding clearance requirements and recognize dangerous load situations to ensure safe operations.
  • You will apply your skills in using crane controls to make rapid judgments about lifting capacity, often in areas with restricted maneuverability.
  • You will ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed, use personal protective equipment, and work in accordance with all required directives and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • You will complete the Operator's Daily Checklist (ODCL) to document pre- and post-crane inspections.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The Screen-out Element for this position: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Must have at least one year of experience in the operation of mobile cranes; 2) Possess knowledge of and have the ability to perform, crane operating, weight handling, and rigging operations procedures, regulations, processes, and operations of Category 1 weight handling equipment; 3) Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one; 4) Able to obtain a crane operator's physical; and 5) Ability to effectively communicate. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Forklift certification within six months of onboarding. May be required to work overtime, shift work, or call back.
