The role includes coding and enhancing various components within systems or applications, ensuring that the solutions are scalable and perform efficiently. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adapting to agile methodologies are integral parts of the daily workflow, enabling continuous improvement and timely delivery of high-quality software products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement best practices within the team to improve software quality and delivery.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and enhance team capabilities.
- Design and develop backend microservices using Spring Boot.
- Build REST APIs for integration with APEX UI, Guidewire Adapter Service, Audit Service, and ServiceNow Connector.
- Implement service-to-service communication patterns using REST and asynchronous messaging.
- Develop business logic for incident evaluation, event routing, transformation, and enrichment.
- Implement idempotency, retry logic, error handling, correlation IDs, and transaction-safe processing.
- Integrate backend services with PostgreSQL for persistence and operational status tracking.
- Expose health checks, metrics, logs, and traces for operational monitoring.
- Build Kafka producers and consumers for Guidewire, incident, audit, and agent decision events.
- Develop real-time stream processing logic using Kafka Streams.
- Implement event filtering, enrichment, deduplication, correlation, and routing.
- Work with Kafka topics such as: guidewire.claim.event.created, incident.evaluation.requested, agent.incident.decision.created, incident.creation.requested, audit.event.recorded
- Support Kafka retry and DLQ patterns.
- Maintain consumer group behavior and offset handling.
- Collaborate on event schema design and versioning using schema registry standards.
- Containerize Spring Boot services using Docker.
- Deploy and support services on AWS EKS or ECS.
- Work with AWS services such as: Amazon MSK / Apache Kafka, AWS API Gateway or Kong integration, AWS Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, IAM, S3 for audit evidence, PostgreSQL / RDS
- Support environment-specific configuration for DEV, UAT, and PROD.
- Implement autoscaling, service health checks, rolling deployment, and rollback patterns.
- Work with DevOps team on Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions pipelines.
- Support observability through OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and Grafana dashboards.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Spring Boot.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building REST APIs and backend microservices.
