Job description

About Perspective Consultancy

Perspective Consultancy is a Uganda-based PR and strategic communications agency that thrives on insight, innovation, and impact. We specialise in working with complex and often underrepresented organisational structures—particularly government ministries, departments, agencies, and parastatals—to translate policy into powerful storytelling. Our work is grounded in deep contextual understanding, evidence-led strategy, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

As we expand our work supporting public service reform and national development efforts, we are seeking a Data Analyst to help ensure that our communications strategies—particularly under the Parish Development Model (PDM)—are informed by robust data, reach the right audiences, and drive measurable outcomes.

Role Overview

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the development and delivery of the PDM Unified Communications Strategy. This includes gathering, analysing, and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data to inform message design, stakeholder segmentation, and strategic planning. You will also contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) by developing tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that demonstrate the real-world impact of communications interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk reviews of existing PDM policies, guidelines, and sector reports to identify baseline data and knowledge gaps.

  • Design and administer data collection tools (e.g., surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions) to capture insights from parishes, stakeholders, and beneficiary groups.

  • Clean, manage, and analyse complex datasets to generate actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.

  • Segment audiences and stakeholders based on message needs, behaviours, information channels, and levels of engagement.

  • Develop KPIs and contribute to the design of an M&E framework for evaluating communications effectiveness.

  • Create interactive dashboards and data visualisation products to support real-time monitoring and decision-making.

  • Apply statistical analysis to validate the effectiveness and reach of PDM communications campaigns.

  • Collaborate with research, strategy, and creative teams to translate findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting—preferably in communications, public policy, or development sector projects.

  • Proficiency in statistical and data tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, or Python) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement both quantitative and qualitative research tools.

  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to present complex data in accessible formats.

  • Familiarity with Uganda’s local governance structures and national development frameworks is a strong asset.

  • Exposure to AI-driven analysis and creative use of data across different mediums (e.g., dashboards, infographics, audio-visual storytelling) is an added advantage.

Why Join Us

  • Contribute to national impact by shaping how development initiatives are communicated and understood.

  • Work at the intersection of data, policy, and storytelling in a forward-thinking agency environment.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that values insight, creativity, and growth.

  • Gain exposure to high-impact government and donor-funded communications programs.
