ICF seeks a Data Manager to support monitoring and evaluation (M&E) related to global health programs.
Primary responsibilities for this position will be to support data management and analysis activities. The position will entail data management of basic and complex datasets, quantitative analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data, data visualization, training, and report writing. Experience with SAS, Stata, R, and/or S+ programming is required to carry out data management and analytical tasks.
Candidates should be able to synthesize quantitative information from a variety of sources, juggle multiple tasks, and interact effectively with clients and colleagues. In addition, candidates should have experience delivering formal and informal training related to data analysis and interpretation. The ideal candidate will have experience with data management and analysis of data from multiple sites and in multiple formats.
Candidates may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance and travel outside of the United States to be considered for this position.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
- Recommend data use for quality assessment and analysis, visualization and analysis.
- Creating databases and appropriate analysis documentation for dissemination to international study teams.
- Extracting, importing and exporting data into/from Excel, SAS, Stata, and/or R in multiple formats
- Verifying data quality, developing and running programs to check for errors; generating error reports
- Providing technical assistance to a variety of stakeholders internationally working closely with multi-disciplinary teams (epidemiologists, statisticians, economists, and other data analysts) to ensure a complete review of the data, as well as providing a thorough understanding of data management processes and issues that may arise in analysis.
- Provide guidance on proper and current data management techniques from, including assisting with analysis, writing data management SOPs and providing technical recommendations on study software.
- Provide deliverables in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate with client regarding issues, needs and/or priority setting for project.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, geography, public health or related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in SAS, Stata, R and/or S+ programming
- 2 years’ experience working with and aggregating/merging multiple complex data sets
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in global health data management
- Candidates must have the ability to travel internationally to be considered for this position.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance to be considered for this position.
- Ability to provide guidance on proper and current data management techniques from, including assisting with analysis, writing data management SOPs and providing technical recommendations on study software
IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS, YOU'RE PROBABLY A GOOD MATCH:
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and PEPFAR
- Experience with GIS analysis and mapping
- Experience developing advanced visualizations (e.g. RShiny)
- Knowledge of languages such as French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or Swahili
- Ability to quickly pick up new programming languages or adapt to new platforms
