About Visa Consulting & Analytics
Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results.
Visa is looking for Data Scientist (Analyst level), who will be the responsible for leading data science engagements with our partners and supporting end-to-end delivery. The individual will work closely with teams involved in a comprehensive range of analytics services for Visa clients, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, cards profitability, product acquisitions, customer engagement and portfolio management.
What a Data Scientist , Visa Consulting & Analytics does at Visa:
The Data Scientist will be a member of VCA Data Science team in Asia Pacific. The position will be based in Visa’s Bangalore office.
The individual will be accountable for supporting and driving the design, development and implementation of analytics-driven strategies as well as high-impact solutions for Visa clients. He/she will bring in deep expertise from banking and payments with a strong background in data science to solve complex problems and unlock business value.
- Hands-on development of detailed project scopes and methodologies, as well as designing, and implementing solutions using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Own project outcomes by proactively identifying and mitigating risks, managing dependencies, and communicating status and timelines to meet delivery expectations.
- Ensuring quality control and maintaining up-to-date documentation for all data science projects.
- Monitoring client portfolio growth data, identifying spending trends, and pinpointing growth opportunities using non-traditional data and new modeling techniques.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (consultants, data science, data engineers) to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contribute to the development of internal frameworks, templates, and accelerators for data science consulting.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- What you will need: We are looking for a motivated, analytical minded individual with a track record of using data and analytics to unlock business value. A successful candidate should have accumulated a variety of industry experience, be curious about banking and cards industry, should be results-driven and client-centric.
- 4+ years’ experience plus a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, or similar/related streams. Graduate master’s degree is a plus.
- Hands-on in delivering end-to-end data science projects, developing machine learning solutions, and scaling up data solutions. Demonstrated expertise in the core machine learning workflow, including data handling (cleaning, wrangling, feature engineering) and modeling with algorithms like Linear Regression, Decision Trees, and XGBoost.
- Experience in card payments and/or retail banking domain.
- Hands-on experience across the data analytics lifecycle: programming and querying (Python, SQL, Pyspark), big data platforms (Hadoop, Hive), and business intelligence/visualization (Tableau).
- Outstanding problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives and impactful presentations using advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiar/Skilled in identifying and implementing GenAI solutions is desirable.
- Self-motivated, results oriented individual with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
