Job Description:We’re looking for a seasoned Data Visualization Expert, someone who enjoys working directly with clients to define, design, develop, and test custom reports and dashboards.  And you’ll have oodles of data to access as you create visually appealing dashboards.  Ideally, you have a deep interest in using statistical and data manipulation knowledge to help our team provide ever more rigorous client analyses.  This would mean conceptualizing how to strengthen data integrity and creating programs to monitor databases using statistics and benchmarking to quickly flag, isolate and address data quality issues.  You’ll want to evolve your role; you’ll want to lead clients from simple, pre-existing business intelligence solutions to “what’s next” capabilities.

 
What you’ll be doing:
• Diving into Data Warehouses to understand what data are where so you can leverage those data using BI tools to create reports, dashboards and other analyses.
• Collaborating with clients, technical and non-technical.
• Guiding and educating users so they better understand their reporting needs, now and as they evolve over time.
• Linking those needs to existing BI tools and helping to scope out what’s possible and the best match so you bring business value to the client.• Support development of custom reports and data visualization products using large datasets to transform data into actionable insights.

Basic Qualifications:
 
• Masters\/Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline)• 5+ years of experience using SQL technologies (e.g., MS SSRS\/SSIS, PostGres) in conjunction with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView)

• 3+ years of experience with data modeling (i.e., statistical and quantitative analyses) and designing user-focused dashboards

Preferred Skills\/Experience:
• Understand ETL basic concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture and transformation
• Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative
• Exposure to the utility, energy, and\/or energy efficiency sectors a plus
Professional Skills:
• Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills paired with an excellent sense of humor
• Ability to exercise independent judgment while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks while under pressure• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
