Job Description
Role: Database/PLSQL Developer (MS SQL/PLSQL)
JD:
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Database Developer to work on the development of our database components using MS SQL. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing databases to support our product build-out on Java. This includes developing complex queries for reports, performing performance tuning, and ensuring data integrity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Development:
Design, develop, and optimize databases using MS SQL to support product build-out on Java.
Create and maintain database schema, indexes, views, stored procedures, and functions.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement database solutions that meet product requirements.
Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and database design documents.
2. Query Development:
Develop complex queries for reports, data analysis, and data visualization.
Optimize queries for performance, ensuring minimal impact on system resources.
Collaborate with the reporting team to design and implement reporting solutions.
Develop and maintain query documentation, including query plans, execution plans, and query optimization techniques.
3. Performance Tuning:
Analyze and optimize database performance, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Implement indexing, caching, and other optimization techniques to improve query performance.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve performance-related issues.
4. Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and QA to ensure database solutions meet product requirements.
Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of database solutions.
5. Database Maintenance:
Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity.
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
6. Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot database issues, including performance problems, data inconsistencies, and system errors.
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve database-related issues.
Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation, including problem descriptions, solutions, and root cause analysis.
7. Documentation:
Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and database design documents.
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and technical guides.
Mandatory Skill: MS SQL, PL/SQL, Performance Tunning , Programming Knowledge (Nice to Have(any) – Java, C#, Python, or Ruby)
