Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Solution Architect with 14+ years of experience in enterprise data platforms, modern cloud ecosystems, and large-scale transformation programs, with strong exposure to the Insurance domain.

The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end architecture/solution design centered on Snowflake, across Azure and AWS, enabling scalable, secure, and AI-ready data platforms for Insurance carriers and related BFSI clients. This role requires technical expertise, practice contribution, executive communication capability, and hands-on leadership in complex modernization initiatives, along with exposure to PreSales & Solutioning teams.

Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Strategy

  • Define enterprise data architecture strategy centered on Snowflake across multi-cloud (Azure & AWS).
  • Design scalable Snowflake-based data platform architectures tailored to Insurance use cases (policy administration, claims, underwriting, Customer 360).
  • Establish data platform reference architecture, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven architectural patterns.

2. Snowflake Architecture & Engineering

  • Architect Snowflake data models, warehouses, and layered pipelines (Bronze/Silver/Gold equivalents).
  • Design Snowflake-native ingestion frameworks (Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks) for real-time and batch data.
  • Implement Snowflake governance features (RBAC, Data Sharing, Time Travel, Secure Views).
  • Enable AI/ML use cases leveraging Snowflake Cortex and Snowpark.
  • Optimize performance, cost (credit usage), and workload isolation via warehouse sizing strategies.

3. Azure Architecture

  • Design Azure data services integrating with Snowflake:
    • ADLS Gen2
    • Azure SQL
    • Azure Purview
    • Event Hub / Service Bus
  • Implement enterprise security using Azure AD, RBAC, and Managed Identities.

4. AWS Architecture

  • Architect AWS-native data platforms integrating with Snowflake using:
    • S3
    • Glue
    • Redshift
    • EMR
    • Lambda
    • IAM
    • Kinesis
  • Design cross-cloud integration patterns (Azure ↔ AWS ↔ Snowflake).
  • Establish cost governance and FinOps practices.

5. PreSales & Solutioning

  • Partner with PreSales & Solutioning teams on RFP/RFI responses, solution estimation, and proposal development.
  • Support client-facing pitches, POCs, and technical due diligence during deal cycles.
  • Translate business requirements into winnable technical solutions and pricing constructs.

6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead architecture reviews, solution proposals, and design authority boards.
  • Engage with C-level stakeholders, deliver demonstrations, and translate business strategy into technical roadmaps.
  • Mentor architects and senior engineers.
  • Drive RFP responses, solution estimation, and delivery governance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or Enterprise Data Platforms.
  • 5+ years hands-on with Snowflake architecture and implementation.
  • Prior experience in the Insurance domain (policy admin, claims, underwriting, or related lines).
  • Exposure to PreSales & Solutioning teams, including RFP responses and client-facing solutioning.
  • Deep Azure data ecosystem knowledge.
  • Strong AWS data services experience.
  • Expertise in SQL, Spark, Python.
  • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience leading large transformation programs.
