As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting configuration management processes and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable rapid development and software releases across the Dayforce platform. Working closely with Development, Support, and Operations teams, you will help ensure the delivery of high-quality software throughout the product lifecycle.

The Release and Configuration Management team supports Dayforce product and development teams as they build, test, and deploy both monolithic and microservices-based applications. The team defines, manages, monitors, and reports on development and quality assurance environments, software branches, builds, and deployments while also developing tools that support engineering teams across the organization.

This role supports U.S. Government projects. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, naturalized citizens, permanent residents, or green card holders, and must be eligible to obtain U.S. security clearance.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Partner with product teams to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
  • Take ownership of the integrity of source control and build environments.
  • Maintain and improve the process for releasing builds into QA, Development, and Test environments.
  • Maintain and improve the process for releasing software to customers, including patches and maintenance releases.
  • Manage release and development branches, including tagging, merging, and applying configuration management best practices.
  • Maintain and support Development and QA/Development/Test infrastructure deployments.
  • Improve build configuration and automation to efficiently manage software releases.
  • Mentor junior team members on DevOps best practices and process improvements.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives across development and release processes.
  • Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to support the successful integration of new projects.

Skills and Experience We Value

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
  • Experience with build automation tools such as Octopus, PowerShell, or Jenkins.
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with source control management practices and advanced branching strategies using Git, GitHub, TFVC, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience administering application lifecycle management tools such as TFS, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jira.
  • Proficiency with SQL and a solid understanding of relational database systems.
  • Experience defining and improving software build, deployment, and release processes.
  • Experience supporting .NET application development.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with server administration and cloud hosting practices in a Microsoft environment.

What Would Make You Stand Out

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale SaaS platforms.
  • Experience working with both monolithic and microservices-based applications.
  • Experience building and maintaining internal DevOps tools and automation.
