Role Overview

The DevOps / Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing,
building, and supporting secure, scalable cloud environments used to deliver
modern digital products. This role focuses on cloud infrastructure, automation,
container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and operational reliability, ensuring
platforms are resilient, observable, and compliant with industry best
practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design,
  build, and support cloud environments to enable digital product delivery
  
• Monitor
  application and infrastructure performance to ensure high availability
  
• Implement
  safeguards to maintain data integrity and prevent unauthorized access
  
• Apply
  industry architectural, security, and web standards and best practices
  
• Support
  integration through APIs and automation tooling
  
• Maintain
  development and operational environments for modern web technologies
  

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Strong
  AWS infrastructure and multi‑account architecture experience
  
• Hands‑on
  Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code expertise
  
• Advanced
  Ansible automation experience
  
• OpenShift
  container platform administration
  
• CI/CD
  pipeline design and operations experience
  

Skills & Experience Requirements

Cloud Infrastructure & AWS (25%)

• Design,
  provision, and manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, security
  groups, IAM, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, and CloudFront
  
• Architect
  multi‑account AWS environments using AWS Well‑Architected Framework
  principles
  
• Implement
  cost optimization strategies such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans,
  and rightsizing
  
• Configure
  and maintain CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and
  organizational policies
  

Infrastructure as Code – Terraform (20%)

• Develop
  and maintain Terraform modules and configurations for cloud infrastructure
  
• Manage
  Terraform Cloud workspaces, remote state, access policies, and variables
  
• Enforce
  IaC standards, versioning, and documentation
  
• Implement
  drift detection and policy‑as‑code workflows
  
• Lead
  code reviews and mentor team members
  

Configuration Management – Ansible (15%)

• Create
  and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections
  
• Manage
  inventories across dynamic cloud environments
  
• Integrate
  automation with CI/CD pipelines
  
• Secure
  credentials using Ansible Vault
  
• Develop
  idempotent, testable automation
  

Container Platform – OpenShift (10%)

• Operate
  and administer managed OpenShift clusters on AWS
  
• Manage
  upgrades, scaling, access controls, and network policies
  
• Deploy
  workloads using Helm, Operators, and Kustomize
  
• Ensure
  compliance with security and hardening standards
  

CI/CD Pipelines (10%)

• Design
  and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications
  
• Implement
  GitOps workflows for declarative deployments
  
• Integrate
  security scanning and quality gates
  
• Promote
  shift‑left testing and pipeline‑as‑code standards
  

Security & Compliance (10%)

• Embed
  security controls across infrastructure and delivery pipelines
  
• Implement
  secrets management and least‑privilege access
  
• Support
  vulnerability management and remediation
  
• Participate
  in incident response and post‑incident reviews
  

Observability & Reliability (10%)

• Build
  monitoring and logging solutions using cloud‑native tools
  
• Define
  and track SLOs and SLIs
  
• Participate
  in on‑call support and root‑cause analysis
  
• Maintain
  runbooks and architectural decision records
