As a DevOps Platform Engineer at Ivy Partners, you will:
- Develop and refine the strategy for the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), including defining Golden Paths, engineering guardrails, and self-service capabilities for developers.
- Establish, oversee, and promote enterprise-wide platform standards, CI/CD frameworks, and reusable platform services across all product teams.
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native application environments at a large scale.
- Implement and uphold observability and reliability practices like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and managing SLOs/SLAs.
- Advance DevSecOps practices including secrets management, vulnerability management, and policy-as-code.
- Create and maintain reference architectures, platform documentation, and operational procedures.
- Monitor and analyze platform performance, reliability, capacity, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with development, operations, security, and architecture teams to ensure cohesive workflows and adherence to enterprise standards.
- Lead initiatives to encourage platform adoption and support engineering teams in implementing best practices.
- Troubleshoot and solve infrastructure issues across various environments.
- Report directly to the Head of Software Development.
Job requirements
About you
You are our ideal candidate if you:
- Have 5 to 10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Possess a proven track record of defining enterprise-wide platform standards, CI/CD frameworks, and developer platform capabilities in large-scale environments.
- Are highly experienced with AWS and GitLab within enterprise contexts.
- Have built and operated Internal Developer Platforms using tools such as Backstage, Crossplane, or similar frameworks.
- Have a strong background in platform governance, developer productivity initiatives, and DORA metrics.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Open to work 4x per week in the office in Porto.
- Fluent English - spoken and written.
