Job description

At Ardent, we hire people who want more than a job — they want to serve a mission that matters. Our teams support the federal government’s most critical national security and defense priorities, helping protect the nation, strengthen resilience, and advance the technologies and capabilities that keep America secure. For veterans, cleared professionals, and purpose-driven innovators, Ardent is a place to continue serving alongside a team that understands the importance of the mission and the people behind it.

We also know top talent has choices, which is why we back our mission with benefits and flexibility that stand out: competitive pay, comprehensive health coverage, flexible PTO, federal holidays off, tuition reimbursement, professional development support, wellness stipends, and a culture that values and rewards hard work, dedication, and adaptability. If you want to build something meaningful, while enjoying the kind of flexibility and support that you need to do your best work — Ardent is where your next mission begins.

Ardent is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer (Consultant) to join our team.

This is a remote role.

Position Description:

The DevSecOps Engineer will design, deploy, operate, and maintain secure Cloud products and services within a Cloud-based environment to enable development teams to deliver features in the most efficient way possible. Leverage an automated process to mitigate security vulnerabilities in the environment by working with the team to triage security vulnerabilities and planning mitigation activities, including but not limited to OS patching. Coordinate with a team of Cloud and DevOps engineers to help tenants realize value through product offerings and operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish system information requirements through analysis and collaboration with information engineering teams supporting enterprise-wide and large-scale information systems.
  • Design system architectures encompassing software, hardware, and communications infrastructure to support current requirements and future cross-functional needs and interfaces.
  • Ensure system architectures comply with applicable open systems standards, including OSI and ISO reference models and relevant IEEE Open Systems Environment standards.
  • Develop and maintain information management solutions across application platforms, APIs, and external software environments.
  • Ensure the common operating environment aligns with Agency enterprise architecture requirements and applicable reference models and standards.
  • Analyze workflow, organizational, and planning challenges and develop appropriate corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and direction to assigned staff.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of IT experience with relevant DevOps and software development experience.
  • Experience analyzing user needs, defining functional requirements, and supporting complex information systems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, source control, build automation, and deployment automation.
  • Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, systems architecture, networking, and software lifecycle management.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Shell, CloudFormation, Groovy, Go, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process. We highly encourage all Veterans and those with disabilities to apply.
