This is a director-level, in-office with remote potential role for an experienced baseball events and sales leader who combines a builder's mentality with sharp commercial instincts. The ideal candidate has grown baseball showcases or tournaments at scale, carries real relationships across the college coaching and scouting community, and is comfortable owning a revenue number. This role is strategy, growth, and sales-oriented and works in close partnership with Code Eleven's Baseball Operations team, which owns event-day operations and logistics.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Area Code ID & Development Series Growth
- Drive new-market and new-event expansion of the Area Code ID & Development Series, from site selection through launch.
- Set and hit registration targets for new events, and track year-over-year registration by market for historical events.
- Build and manage the sales pipeline: outbound calls, DMs, and emails to travel ball coaches, HS coaches, parents, and athletes; own daily lead-generation and call-log tracking.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on email and lifecycle marketing for the ID Series, including database segmentation, creative, scheduling, pricing, and discount strategy.
- Partner with marketing on growing the player and coach database through social prompts, public recruiting lists, and other recruiting and demographic data sources.
- Carry a new-event and incremental-event revenue target for the ID Series and premium event offerings (specific targets set annually with Head of Growth and Strategic Initiatives).
- Lead on-site event operations, including staffing, field setup, weather contingency plans, and real-time problem-solving
Area Code Baseball Strategy & Growth
- Partner with the Baseball Operations team to identify growth opportunities across the Area Code Baseball calendar, including new markets, formats, and premium upsell opportunities within existing events.
- Provide commercial and sales input into event calendar, format, and pricing decisions ahead of each season.
- Represent Area Code Baseball commercially on-site at flagship events, engaging coaches, scouts, and college programs to strengthen relationships and surface future growth opportunities for the Area Code Baseball business.
- Track and report on registration, revenue, and market performance across the full Area Code Baseball portfolio, flagging trends and opportunities to Operations and leadership.
- Cultivate and grow relationships with the Area Code Baseball alumni base
- Track and promote alumni success stories (MLB draft picks, college commitments) to reinforce brand credibility in marketing and recruiting materials
College Coach & Scouting Relations
- Maintain and expand a personal network of Division I college coaches, professional scouts, and travel/select organization leaders to drive both attendance and credibility of Area Code events.
- Serve as a relationship owner for college programs represented at Area Code events, coordinating invitations and on-site experience in partnership with baseball operations.
- Partner with the scouting and player personnel community to ensure Area Code events remain a preferred evaluation platform in the amateur baseball landscape.
Data, Video & Technology Strategy
- Help shape video capture and data-collection strategy at events, including go-to-market approach for new and existing data/video products.
- Support sales of data and video assets to athletes, families, media, and professional partners.
- Partner with key technology and data vendor relationships on commercial terms, data rights, and go-to-market strategy.
Team, Brand & Cross-Functional Support
- Manage and develop event sales/marketing staff supporting the ID Series and Area Code Games.
- Support Area Code Baseball's social channels and content calendar in partnership with the Code Eleven Studio team.
- Partner with the sales and partnerships teams on strategic partnership research and activation for baseball properties.
- Contribute to the football business unit's cross-sport initiatives where multi-sport data or event strategy overlaps (e.g., shared vendor tech, cross-sport database growth).
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- 7+ years in baseball event growth, showcase/tournament sales, or amateur scouting-adjacent business roles, with at least 2-3 years at a director or senior manager level.
- A demonstrated personal network of Division I college baseball coaches, professional scouts, and/or travel ball and select organization leaders in baseball.
- Experience growing large-scale, multi-day showcases or tournaments commercially, including registration growth, pricing strategy, and sales pipeline management.
- A track record of hitting new-business or registration revenue targets through direct sales, lifecycle marketing, and database growth.
- Comfort with and experience in baseball data and technology platforms used in the amateur and professional scouting space.
- Strong organizational and CRM/database discipline, as this role requires rigorous tracking of leads, registrations, and year-over-year performance by market.
- Willingness to travel regularly during the event season and work extended on-site hours during marquee events, including the Area Code Games.
- A track record of building trust with coaches, scouts, organizational partners and families through honest, transparent communication
- A collaborative, low-ego operating style; comfortable owning a number and being judged against it.
