Profile Requirements:

  • Min 2.5 Years of Proven Experience as a Technical Draftsman, CAD Designer, Sign Draftsman, or similar drafting role
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Experience creating fabrication drawings, shop drawings, permit drawings, and installation packages
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, architectural plans, engineering drawings, and fabrication methods
  • Experience with custom signage, construction, manufacturing, architectural products, or related industries preferred
  • Familiarity with sign fabrication methods, installation practices, permitting processes, ADA requirements, and local building codes
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat for PDF markups and document management
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, NetSuite, Smartsheet, Box, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based project management systems is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and production documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working independently

Core responsibilities:

  • Create detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, permit drawings, and installation drawings for custom signage projects
  • Develop accurate CAD drawings based on architectural plans, surveys, project specifications, and customer requirements
  • Prepare layouts, elevations, sections, mounting details, and fabrication packages
  • Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, construction documents, and design specifications
  • Produce drawings for channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, wall signs, wayfinding systems, ADA signage, illuminated signage, and other custom sign types
  • Coordinate drawing revisions based on customer feedback, engineering reviews, and project changes
  • Ensure drawings comply with permitting requirements, local building codes, ADA standards, and project specifications
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, Estimators, Fabrication, and Installation teams throughout each project
  • Prepare drawing packages for permitting, engineering review, fabrication, and installation
  • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, manufacturability, and completeness before release
  • Generate material callouts, dimensions, bills of materials, and fabrication details
  • Assist with value engineering by identifying opportunities to improve fabrication efficiency and reduce production costs
  • Organize drawing revisions, project files, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams regarding drawing updates and technical requirements
  • Support production and installation teams by answering technical drawing questions and providing revisions as needed
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
